Nick Farmer

Director of Development, Finance, and Strategy

The built environment contributes nearly 50% of global greenhouse gas emissions, with concrete and steel alone comprising 11% of that number. Nick's mission is to scale reliable, efficient, real time approaches that not only reduce the construction industry's carbon footprint, but benefit all players in the real estate ecosystem. Nick holds an MBA with a focus on real estate development and entrepreneurial finance from the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business and a BA from Muhlenberg College.

David Miller

Head of Construction

Dave’s passion for construction began nearly 30 years ago when he helped his father build his family house at the age of 14, and he has been building and renovating homes in Midcoast Maine ever since. While earning an Associate of Science degree from Unity College, a premier environmental institution, Dave developed an interest in sustainability and renewable energy that has shaped his career as a builder. After several years developing hard craftsmanship skills building and renovating luxury homes on Islesboro Island, Dave joined pioneering green building company GO Logic in 2007. At GO Logic, Dave developed deep expertise in sustainable construction practices, which led to the successful completion of the first-ever certified Passive House residence in Maine. Now at OPAL Build, Dave recently added to his list of firsts when he completed construction of the world’s first pre-insulated panelized cross-laminated timber (CLT) building in July 2021. Dave is excited to be part of the next generation of green building.

Andrew Hayes

Design Project Manager

Andrew graduated from North Yarmouth Academy and earned a BA from Middlebury College and a Master’s in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He previously worked for several firms in New York City and founded and directed his own studio, completing loft renovations in NYC and a minimalist Passive House in Maine. Andrew is thrilled to be a part of OPAL Build and is inspired by his colleagues and clients, emerging green technologies, and the intersections of vernacular designs, modernism and the landscapes of Maine.

Korina Buozys

Marketing Director

Korina holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She founded and ran a recycled accessories line before moving Maine to work on a sailboat. Her background in arts and design and a passion for sustainability and the environment led her to join Opal. Korina finds inspiration in the historic nature of homes as she and her husband restore their vintage rural farmhouse and in the wildness of Maine by sailing on Penobscot Bay.

Nicholas Payson

Carpenter

Nick hails from Belfast originally, and has since put down roots in the midcoast region with his wife, two dogs (Kai and Sully), and two cats (Curtis and Junie). With a background in renewable energy, manufacturing, and passive house assembly, he is a natural fit at OPAL Build. Nick spends his time away from building the best houses in the world playing guitar, eating desserts, and going on hikes.

Chandler Adams

Carpenter

Chandler’s interests revolve around sustainability, which is what led him to OPAL Build. Mixed with his love of Maine and the outdoors, this is an environment in which he thrives. Prior to joining the team, Chandler traveled the world with his wife, Masha, and soaked up knowledge from many different cultures that impacts him to this day, specifically spending a great deal of time in India. Together they have two kiddos. Chandler will be earning a degree in Sustainable Design Building from Kennebec Valley College and hopes that it will bring forth a great career in this field.

We are looking for teammates who share our passion for creating the next generation of sustainable buildings.
